EDITORIAL SERVICES
Editorial proofreading, translation revision and translation
Editorial proofreading, revision of translated texts and translation in English, Spanish and Italian, with attention to meaning, flow and the context of each project.
WHEN PROOFREADING HELPS
Clarity and accuracy in every detail
Even a well-written text may contain grammatical errors, repetition, ambiguity or inconsistencies. Editorial proofreading involves a contextual reading — not merely an automated check — to correct these issues without improperly changing the writer’s intent.
Language accuracy
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, agreement, verb and preposition usage, and other aspects of standard language are assessed in context.
Coherence and consistency
Names, terms, numbers, references and editorial choices are checked to prevent discrepancies throughout the material.
Respect for authorship
Changes aim to preserve the text’s voice, tone and purpose, while flagging points that require a decision.

Contextual proofreading
We make corrections and flag questions or decisions that require discussion.
3
Quality control and delivery
We carry out a final check and return organized files in accordance with the agreed scope.

EDITORIAL PROJECT
Editorial precision in a tightly constrained project
In partnership with Bovespa and Editora Nobel, the book had to be translated, proofread and printed while preserving the length of the English original — an additional challenge, since Portuguese tends to take up more space.
As editorial assistant, Ana Lúcia Sesso oversaw the development of the project and its delivery before the Bovespa elections. The work required careful translation and proofreading decisions to balance concision, meaning and deadlines.
PROJECTS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Before requesting proofreading
What is the difference between proofreading and manuscript preparation?
Proofreading focuses on language accuracy and inconsistencies. Manuscript preparation allows for more extensive work on the structure, flow, consistency and organization of the manuscript.
How are the deadline and fee determined?
We assess length, complexity, format, the level of editing and the desired date. Based on that assessment, we propose the scope, schedule and fee.
Which languages are covered by translation and translation revision?
We handle projects involving Portuguese, English, Spanish and Italian. Tell us the source and target languages so we can assess the scope.
In which format should the file be sent?
For most projects, we receive .doc or .docx files, which are ideal for texts still in development. When the material is further along, a PDF can also be sent. If you are unsure, send a sample so we can recommend the best workflow.
Are changes and questions identified?
Yes. The way changes, comments and questions are recorded is agreed as part of the scope, making the process transparent and easy to follow.
